Kumaya Shoten Co., Ltd. mainly handles the products using exclusive Yoshino cedar. We offer various exquisite woodworks including chopsticks.
All our products are of high quality and we offer them to our
customers with confidence.
Especially, we are proud of our chopsticks since we manufacture them with parts of wood that are normally to be disposed.
Through such efforts as effective use of resources, we are taking part in
conservation of forest resources and development of forestry.
In addition, Yoshino cedar we are using for our products is cultivated by afforestation technology developed through many years’ research and development done here,
now known as an exclusive cedar brand
standing out from others.
That makes it possible for us to produce exquisite products that cannot be done with commonly-used other cedars.

Special manufacturing process
using exclusive Yoshino cedar
Our main product is disposable chopsticks. Then, based on the technologies we have accumulated through chopstick manufacturing, we are expanding our field to other woodworks.
In using Yoshino cedar, we consciously use entire
cedar including wood waste, by utilizing parts suitable for chopsticks to manufacture chopsticks and other parts as materials for other woodworks. We believe that use without excess will lead to achievement of higher quality in
manufacturing as well as to effective use of resources. We will hold on to this principle for product development.
For those who are going to open a Japanese restaurant
in Japan or other countries
Japanese food keeps gaining attention. Its flavor and healthy characteristics may lead to this boom, but we think that Japanese table manners and unique spirit of hospitality handed down from ancient times are also essential of Japanese food culture. So we would like to recommend to select carefully not only cooking ingredients but also tableware and ambience. Chopsticks indispensable to Japanese table setting may be an important element.

In consideration of mountain rejuvenation, we are utilizing all types of wood to share ”blessings of mountains” with our
customers.
We are handling a wide range of products to come into line with ”initiative for use of woods” encouraged by Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries and other organizations.
